Hi,
1) I can't get the scheduler to run. When I click on change task, to edit the schedule the popup comes up. However when I click on the schedule or settings tab, another copy of the dialog box comes up. Each time I click on it, another copy comes up. Sometimes this happens and sometimes it doesnt.

2) I am running windows xp home. On the change task screen there is a box labeled "run as" which has been populated with the computer name\user name where user name is my first and last name. (for example
Cherry\Johnny Appleseed" When I click the set password box it does not ask for a user name. When I log into windows, we have a user that the entire family uses. This name is Appleseed Family. Do I type this into the "run as" box? If not there, then where is this typed in in order to get scheduler to run automatically. It would be most useful if you could paste a couple of screen shots on where this info should be entered since it seems to be a frequent question on this board.

3) I tried to test the automatic backup by only selecting 1 folder to be backed up and then setting up a schedule to run in 5 minutes starting with todays date. I want to fully understand what happens before running a long backup that might take a an hour or two. Assuming I can get the scheduler to work per question 2, can I do the testing this way or do I need to reboot after setting up a schedule for it to take effect.
Thanks,
John

Hi,

1) Yes, this is an issue that comes and goes. It seems more prevalent on Server OS's. The solution if LS starts doing this is to minimize the main Window (by clicking in the toolbar) , then close all the extra scheduling dialogs (all but one) and then continue as normal.

2) Yes, the Run As box should have <Computer Name>\<User Name> , in your case it could be <Computer Name>\Appleseed Family ... If you do not have a password on this account, then you will not have to click the Set Password button.

3) Yes, thats a valid way to do the test, no reboot is needed.

Hope that helps !!!
