Im new to LojiklSweep. I did my first backup yesterday onto an external harddrive. The backup seemed to accomplish what it was supposed to do but I can't open the zipped files. They all need a password. When I put in the password for this forum. It says that it is the wrong password. I don't know what password they are asking for. I don't remember creating a password for the condensed backed up files. WHAT NOW?

I also thought I had set up Lojiksweep to email me to say the backup was accomplished as planned but maybe thats not what the notification emails are for. If not why did I put the primary email and secondary email in the notification fields. I checked the box to send notification emails. Please respond. Thanks.

Ok so I found out where I had created a password for the backup files. The password doesn't work. I dont know if its because the file is compressed or not because it always tells me that I have the incorrect password.
I'm still having problems opening a compressed file when I backuped again without a password.
If I backkup without compression it opens fine but the ones that are compressed need an extraction tool. Windows tool says that the file is the wrong kind or that it is corrupted.

What now?

As for the email :

In the 'General" Section of LojiklSweep, please make sure the Email server details are specific correctly.

For the ZIP Passwords :

If you click "Password Protection" every ZIP File created by the software will require the the password you entered in the software, to open it.

If Windows refuses to open the archives, either use the Restore Manager that is built in to LojiklSweep or a third party application like WinRar or WinZIP. they both work fin to recover the backed up files.

I tried my password several times. I'm sure I have the correct one but it still wont open any of the condensed, password protected files. It seems to have caught me in a loop and will not go past the password window.

2nd issue. I cant seem to find any Restore Manager in Lojiclsweep. I only find options to backup. None for restoration.

I know that I activated my license because I remember getting the message that the product was unlocked but I don't seem to have all the features you are talking about. Windows extractor will not open any of the condensed files. Even the ones without a password needed.

I know this product seems like a great product for alot of people but I'm getting frustrated and if I knew of another free program to backup that worked I think I would try it instead.

I've spent alot of time with this one and I would like to get the kinks out of it. I need a backup tool badly. I hope my comps don't crash before I get it working. :( Thanks, Deniece

Hi,

1) Did you try WinZip or WinRAR to open the files. Windows has issues opening them.

2) The Restore Manager is location in the History section of a Project. Select the project -> Select History -> then you will see a list of the Backups that have run. Selecting one of these backups will allow you to open the Restore Manager.

Cheers
Fungusware.
