Every night I backup my entire hard drive to a network attached drive. This computer is really just used as a e-mail and web client so after the first backup I'm not expecting a lot of files to be modified. unless I add some pictures or maybe a few documents.

I've found that it is copying almost 23 gb of data every night, which takes approximately 6 hours to do ( yes, it's not the peppiest nas drive).

It appears to be copying files that are on the backup and have not changed. For example, sweepindex.xml contains many entries like this:

<SweepFiles>
<Path>C:\Users\Bob\Desktop\</Path>
<File>Dark GDK.msi</File>
<LastWriteTime>2007-11-27T17:46:41.326-05:00</LastWriteTime>
<FileSize>228476928</FileSize>
<FullFileName>C:\Users\Bob\Desktop\Dark GDK.msi</FullFileName>
<Attributes>8224</Attributes>
<BackedUp>true</BackedUp>
<DestinationPath>V:\SweepBackup2\Desktop\C\Users\Bob\Desktop\</DestinationPath>
<DestinationFullFileName>V:\SweepBackup2\Desktop\C\Users\Bob\Desktop\Dark GDK.msi</DestinationFullFileName>
<Group>Desktop</Group>
<Result>Copied</Result>
</SweepFiles>

This file has not changed and is in the backup, since the backup goes to the same place every night. So why is it being copied? Is there a setting or option I need to change? My drive is getting quite the workout.

Thanks!

Hi !

We run 3 large backups here at Fungusware using LojiklSweep and on one of our backups we experience the same issue as you.

We are investigating this issue, since it is one of the core functionalities, we will prioritize this work.
