ive had success backing up some of my files..however when i use the basic mode to back up outlook express..it finishes..and then has an extension of .dbx which just sits in the backup location..if i try to check it it opens in notepad in mainly unreadable computer language..picturs that were attached in the main copy are not there..tried getting into outlook express as .dbx is clearly an extension of express but im unable to do so..any suggestions???

Hi,

The file you are talking about is the actual Outlook Express database where your emails etc. are stored. This file is not meant to be opened by any other program than Outlook Express. If your main Outlook express file some how gets lost or corrupted then you can replace it with the file that has been copied to the new path you mentioned.
